Patient Rights are a reflection of human rights in the field of health. These are rights that patients and healthcare professionals must uphold together for the best possible healthcare service.

YOUR RIGHTS

General Access to Services

The right to benefit from healthcare services within the framework of the principles of justice and fairness: The right to receive services without regard to race, language, religion and sect, gender, philosophical beliefs, economic and social status.

Information and Request for Information

The right to learn about all types of healthcare services and facilities and to request any information regarding one's health condition verbally or in writing.

Choosing and Changing Healthcare Facilities and Personnel

The right to choose and change healthcare facilities and to benefit from the healthcare services provided at the chosen facility, and to learn the identities, duties, and titles of the physicians and other healthcare professionals who will provide or are providing healthcare services, and to choose and change them.

Privacy

Patients have the right to receive all types of healthcare services in a private environment.

Refusal, Cessation, and Consent

Patients have the right to refuse treatment, request its discontinuation, and to have their consent obtained for medical interventions and to benefit from services within the framework of that consent.

Security

Patients have the right to receive healthcare services in a safe environment.

Fulfillment of Religious Obligations

Patients have the right to fulfill their religious obligations within the limits of the healthcare facility's capabilities and the measures taken by the administration.

Respect for Human Values, Dignity, and Comfort

Patients have the right to receive healthcare services with respect, care, and attention, in a friendly, polite, and compassionate environment, with all hygienic conditions ensured and all noisy and disturbing factors eliminated.

Visiting and Having a Companion

Patients have the right to receive visitors within the procedures and principles determined by the healthcare facility, and to have a companion, within the limits of the legislation and the possibilities of the healthcare facility, and if deemed appropriate by the physician.

Right to Appeal, Complaint, and Litigation

In case of violation of their rights, they have the right to use all kinds of appeals, complaints, and litigation rights within the framework of the legislation.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities

Individuals should do their best to take care of their own health and follow the advice given for a healthy life.

Individuals can donate blood or organs if they are eligible.

In simple cases, individuals should take care of themselves.

Social Security Status

Patients are obliged to report changes in their health, social security, and personal information in a timely manner.

Patients are obliged to renew their health insurance card (such as Bağ-Kur, Green Card) on time.

Informing Healthcare Workers

Patients; The patient must provide complete and accurate information about their complaints, previous illnesses, whether they have received any inpatient treatment, any medications they are currently taking, and all information related to their health.

Compliance with Hospital Rules

The patient must comply with the rules and procedures of the healthcare facility they are visiting.

The patient must comply with the referral chain determined by the Ministry of Health and other social security institutions.

The patient is expected to cooperate with healthcare professionals throughout the treatment, care, and rehabilitation process.

If the patient is using a healthcare facility that provides services by appointment, they must adhere to the date and time of their appointment and notify the relevant place of any changes.

The patient must respect the rights of hospital staff, other patients, and visitors.

The patient is obliged to compensate for any damage they cause to hospital equipment.

Compliance with Treatment-Related Recommendations

The patient must carefully listen to and ask questions about anything they do not understand regarding their treatment and medications.

If the patient is unable to comply with the recommendations related to their treatment, they must inform the healthcare professional.

The patient must indicate whether they understand the healthcare and post-discharge care plan as expected.

The patient is responsible for the consequences arising from refusing treatment or failing to follow recommendations.
